Melissa Moss, CFP®

Money should create choices, not take them away.

Financial planner. Daughter of an advisory family. Former patient advocate.

That belief came from somewhere specific, and it still shapes how Moss Wealth Management works with households approaching retirement.

Before financial planning, Melissa spent twelve years in patient advocacy. In that work she repeatedly met people on fixed incomes who could not afford a $197 annual patient conference or livestream — the one place they could learn about their own condition.

It was a small amount of money standing between people and something that mattered enormously to them.

What matters here

“Money should create choices, not take them away.”

Melissa Moss, CFP® — Moss Wealth Management

How that shows up in the work.

Coordination first. Markets are one piece of a much larger picture.

Households approaching retirement rarely need another opinion about markets. They need someone whose job it is to see how the pieces fit — income, Social Security, taxes, Medicare, withdrawals, a spouse who should be just as prepared, and whatever they hope the money does afterward.

Melissa Moss is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and works with clients from Woodstock, Georgia, serving households across North Metro Atlanta and other states where Moss Wealth Management is registered.

She grew up around her family's advisory business and began working with LPL Financial in 2019, bringing together a lifelong interest in money and investing with the client advocacy work that shaped the first part of her career.

Family and legacy

Plans are made by households, not individuals.

One household

Retirement decisions are rarely made alone. Both people should know how income arrives, where things are kept, and who to call.

The next generation

Children and grandchildren tend to be considered somewhere in every plan — usually quietly, and usually early.

What the money is for

Legacy is partly documents and beneficiaries. It is also what you would like the money to make possible afterward.

In their words

What it has been like to work together.

Melissa, thank you so much for taking the time to speak to me about Medicare and my upcoming deadlines. And thank you for setting up my appointment in January. It's so comforting to have you in our lives, guiding us through all these complicated issues and being such a resource for us. Thank you for caring! Bethany may have communicated this to you already, but she is very thankful for all your assistance with investments, student loans, and financial planning, and that is a great comfort to me, as well. She really likes you as a person, as do I, and is very comfortable with you. So it's all pretty great! You have really been a God-send to both of us!
